SAFETY

As a leader in our industry, Safety is of primary importance to SSL and we recognize the right of every employee to work in a safe and healthy environment. Sutherland-Schultz Ltd. is committed to protecting employees and customers from injury, occupational hazards and disease. We support the system of internal responsibility on which the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations are founded.

Safety orientation is mandatory for all employees to ensure that they have the knowledge and the tools to work in a safe and secure environment. Sutherland-Schultz Ltd. has a comprehensive health and safety program that is reviewed and updated regularly to ensure our supervisors have the most up-to-date information. Our Joint Health & Safety Committee composed of representatives from all trades meets regularly to ensure that all areas of concern are addressed and acted on.

Our goal is to achieve an accident-free environment by taking a proactive approach and stressing the importance of beginning each day with a SAFE START. This can be achieved by planning the work to be done, evaluating any possible hazards, communicating those hazards in a positive manner and following up to ensure that all hazards are removed.
